The show/reading is to be held on Friday, May 14 at Krowswork Gallery in Oakland (http://www.krowswork.com/). The owner, Jasmine Moorhead, has generously offered that we use her screening room, which features seating for 50 on beautiful antique church pews, free wall space for your art, and some floor space for small installations. Her only stipulation is that, because she did not select the works herself, if you decide to list this show on your CV or resume, please mention it as a 'Lectric Collective event as opposed to a Krowswork event.

And, without further ado, the information you've all been patiently awaiting: the poets! We're very excited to say that you will be working from poems by (and showing your art alongside readings from) the very talented poets Lisa Robertson, Jane Gregory, and Jesús Castillo.

Lisa Robertson is a Canadian poet who is currently living in Oakland and teaching at CCA in San Francisco. She has authored six books of poetry (each of which we have selected an exemplary poem or excerpt from) and two chapbooks. Many of her poems are in response to visual art, and she herself makes sound and video based work, making her a wonderful example of the relationship between language arts and other arts.

Jane Gregory is a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley. She graduated from Vassar College in 2004 and received her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop last spring. Her chapbook was put out by Cannibal Books in 2007. We are including sections of her newest chapbook, Some Books (published by The Song Cave) as an attachment, but feel free to look to poems at these links as well: http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/external/Mary/winter2010/content/poetry/JG.html

Jesús Castillo is a poet who splits his time between Oakland and San Diego. He is the founder and editor of Vertebrae Journal (http://vertebraejournal.wordpress.com/), a new publication which will include writing and art, which promises to be pretty tremendous. A selection of his poems are attached.
